Recession: Nigerian pilgrims pray for leaders in Jerusalem


Against the back drop of the economic hardship in the country, Nigerians in Jerusalem observing the 2016 holy pilgrimage have asked for divine intervention to overcome the current challenges.
In a separate interview with THE AUTHORITY, they all expressed their feelings on the need for Nigerians to seek the face of God and also calls for prayers for the leadership of the country.

Apostle Winifred Iwunze of Ziongate Bible church Lagos, a pilgrim from Nigeria said the intercession was part of the issues earmarked for the pilgrimage.
According to her, the prayers became necessary considering the various challenges facing the country.

She emphasized the needs for collective prayers and unity of purpose to not only overcome its present problems, but continue to occupy the enviable position of the giant of Africa.

He noted that this is the time every Nigerian devoid of religious, ethnic and political inclinations should come together and confront the myriad of problems facing the country, stressing that, with genuine love and unity of purpose, Nigeria can always come out better from its current socio-economic woes.

“What should be uppermost in our minds is the unity of Nigeria, since we don’t have any other country to call our own”.

Rev. Fr. Barnabas Izegede of Isele-Uku dioses, Delta State, also a pilgrim from Nigeria said fervent prayers for God’s intervention will pave way for the restoration of vibrant economy in the country.

He said seeking divine intervention will enable the country to overcome the present economic challenges.
He said with genuine prayer to Almighty God, Nigeria would come out of the current socio-economic crises, militancy, cattle rustling and insurgency among others.
