RECs nomination: ABIA nominee unknown to PDP, APC
President Mohammadu Buhari’s nominee for INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner from Abia State, Godswill Obioma, is not well known to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress in Abia State.
The Chairman of APC in Abia State, Donatus Nwankpa, told our correspondent that Obioma is not known to Abia APC.
This was corroborated by the party’s governorship candidate, Nyerere Anyim, who said he doesn’t know the nominee and the party he hails from in the state.
But, a PDP chieftain, who pleaded anonymity, said that the party is investigating to ascertain the background of Godswill Obioma.
He said, “We don’t know much about him. Definitely, we must find out exactly whom he is to ascertain whether he is the right person for that sensitive job.
“This appointment is crucial as it will give an insight of what should be expected in 2019 with regard to credible election under the ruling APC. We will not hesitate to oppose his nomination if we establish that he is a member of APC”.
Every effort to reach the chairman of PDP in state, Mr. Johnson Onuigbo, proves abortive as his phones were switched off.
